Key Activities to engage and represent the GCSD Community:
- Member of GCSD’s Parks Advisory Committee (PAC) from 2017 – 2020 (Chair 2019-2020), which organized and analyzed community outreach for the new park and recreation center. The PAC also advocated for GCSD to save the jetty skate ramp, co-sponsor the new pump track in Quarry Park, and organized educational walks and other recreation activities.
- Co-designed 2018 Community Outreach event for the park design and analyzed verbatim input from 70 members of the community.
- Co-designed 2019 Community Survey, publicized by mail, NextDoor, Coastside Buzz and the Half Moon Bay Review, and helped analyze >500 responses about features for the park and a potential community recreation center, and recreation activities.
- Designed 2019 Community Workshop, attended by 60 adults and kids, who participated in small groups reviewing community survey results and mapping out the park design.
- Designed and facilitated 2020 Community Outreach on the draft park design, publicized by mail, NextDoor, Coastside Buzz, the Half Moon Bay Review, and the big sign on Obispo Road. I personally responded in detail to >100 emailed comments and questions from community members. Analyzed and consolidated comments for PAC to review and make final recommendations to the Board.
- Member of the GCSD Board since December 2020, elected Board President in 2023 and 2024; Alternate member of SAM Board in 2023; Member of Ad Hoc Committee for the Community Recreation Center Design in 2022, including input on content for an online survey about recreation center features, which received over 350 responses from the community.
- Ensured all community input is publicly available at Granada.ca.gov, for transparency.
- Volunteered as a guide for Ocean Shore/El Granada history walks.
